Follow these instructions to successfully connect the Vega 3000 to the USAePay RetailPOS iOS app so you can process mobile payments through your Apple device.
Connect the device
How to connect to Wi-Fi:
- Turn on the device and wait for it to boot up
- Hold down the 9-key on the device until it beeps twice
- When the Main Menu appears, select 1 Settings
- Select 2 Manage Wi-Fi
- Select the number of the network you wish to use (If your network does not appear, press the red X button to go back and select 3 Rescan Wi-Fi)
- Enter your password (Your network must be secured with a password for this device. An open guest WIFI network with no password will not work.)
How to set up Ethernet:
If your network has firewall rules, ask your IT department to whitelist eft://direct.paymentengine.io:9021. The device must be set up near an electrical outlet and your network's ethernet port.
- Remove the 3-way connector cable and power supply from the box
- Connect the plug end of the cable into the port on the back of the device
- Connect the ethernet cable to an ethernet port with open access
- Plug the power adapter into the 3rd end of the connector cable
- Plug the power adapter into an outlet
- When the device powers on, you should see Please Enter ID Number (If you see This Lane Closed, call 1-800-838-9699 or email support@persolvent.com for help with troubleshooting to get you to the Please Enter ID Number screen)
Add the device in the app
Register the device:
- Open the iOS app on your mobile device
- Go to Settings > Devices
- Scroll down to Cloud Devices
- Click Manage Cloud Devices
- Click + to add a device
- Create a device name (example - Vega 3000)
- Select Device Type = Standalone
- Click Register Device
- A six-digit pairing code will display on the screen
Pairing
How to pair the device to the Device Manager:
- The screen on your Vega 3000 should prompt for a pairing code
- Use the keys on the device to type in the six-digit pairing code from USAePay
- Click the green OK button
- Once connected, you should see Welcome
Configure settings
How to review and change device options in the app:
- Still in the Device Manager in the app
- Locate this device and click Edit
- Make sure Enable EMV and Contactless are toggled On
- Turn off Enable Debit MSR (you can accept debit cards, but pin debit is not supported)
- Turn on Update Notifications to receive alerts on the device when updates are available that you can run from the device. If unchecked, no notifications are sent. You will only see pending updates by accessing the Device Manager and you must login to send an update to the device.
- Click Save
Access the Main Menu on the device
Hold down the 9-key until it beeps twice to pull up the Main Menu.
- Settings - change the connection type, change Wi-Fi networks, switch to sandbox mode, turn off keypad sounds, unpair the device
- Device Information - locate the mode, build, deployment, device, and Wi-Fi network. This information may be requested for support cases.
- Check for Update - if you select this option and the device reverts to the Main Menu, there are no pending updates to run.
