Follow these instructions to successfully connect your Lane terminal to the Device Manager in USAePay so you can process payments in the merchant console or via a third party integration.
Connect Ethernet
How to connect to Ethernet:
If your network has firewall rules, ask your IT department to whitelist eft://direct.paymentengine.io:9021. The device must be set up near an electrical outlet and your network's ethernet port.
- Remove the 3-way connector cable and power supply from the box
- Connect the plug end of the cable into the port on the back of the device
- Connect the ethernet cable to an ethernet port with open access
- Plug the power adapter into the 3rd end of the connector cable
- Plug the power adapter into an outlet
- When the device powers on, you should see Please Enter ID Number. If you see This Lane Closed, call 1-800-838-9699 or email support@persolvent.com for help with troubleshooting to get you to the Please Enter ID Number screen.
Add the device in USAePay
Create a source key:
- Log into USAePay
- Go to Settings > API Keys in the left sidebar
- Click Add API Key
- Name = create a source name (example - Lane 7000)
- PIN = create a unique alphanumeric PIN
- Click Save in the lower right corner
Register the device:
- Go to Settings > Device Manager in the left sidebar
- Click Add
- Device Name = create a source name (example - Lane 7000)
- Search for Source Kay = use the dropdown to select the key you just created
- Terminal Type = Direct
- Click Register
- A six-digit pairing code will display on the screen

How to pair the device to the Device Manager:
- The screen on the device should say Please Enter ID Number
- Use the keys on the device to type in the six-digit pairing code from USAePay
- Click the green O button
- Once connected, you should see This Lane Closed

How to review and change device options:
- Go back to the Device Manager in USAePay
- Click on the device to open the Device Options screen
- Make sure Enable EMV and Contactless are checked
- Uncheck Enable Debit MSR (you can accept debit cards, but pin debit is not supported)
- Check the box next to Update Notifications to receive alerts on the device when updates are available that you can run from the device. If unchecked, no notifications are sent. You will only see pending updates by accessing the Device Manager and you must login to send an update to the device.
- Click Save
